Driven by need and inspired by The Nanny, Carla McGrath started an in-home daycare in the small town of Bridgeport, NE in November 2001. As a mother of three, dealing with kids was one of Carla’s biggest strengths, one that her husband helped her realize, and the town was in need of a daycare. Everything fell into place as if it was meant to happen; as Carla describes it, ‘I didn’t choose the daycare career; it chose me.’
Twenty-one years later, Carla McGrath’s Daycare is the only childcare in Bridgeport, NE with a Step 2 working to achieve a Step 5-star Step Up to Quality rating. And the credit for it goes only to Carla McGrath, who spent endless days working hard to make children feel at home with her and sleepless nights cleaning the home and getting it ready for the next morning and thinking of ways to further improve her services and her connection with kids.
Warm, generous, kind, and caring, yet extremely professional, Carla has all the qualities you need in a daycare owner. No wonder both children and their parents adore her. As someone said, “when your work speaks for itself, don’t interrupt,” Carla let her work, which was fueled by sincerity and dedication, do the talking.
